The Camino is a walking pilgrimage. For me, it is not a hike, though 790 kilometers definitely qualifies it as one. But the intention is very different. For me, walking the Camino is not about mastering the wilderness, or being a wilderness for that matter. I'm not walking to build my ego or gain a sense of accomplishment, but rather to be present in the moment and feel the connection to the millions of souls who have walked the Camino Santiago over the centuries. I expect it will be hard and humbling. Also joyous and beautiful.
