Rest day highlights:
Sleeping in til 8
Leisurely breakfast in plaza
Shopping for a few necessities
wandering Estella's churches and streets without foot pain
Picnic lunch and swimming in the river
Negotiations with Senora on tiny, haphazard shop over which shockingly ugly dress I should buy.
Hiding from the reflection of my new dress in every shop window.
Watching Marise's knee pain abate
Reserving a room 20 km further on. This has become a sad necessity this Camino season. With the current wave of pilgrims and increase in online booking options, pressure is intense and stressful. By all accounts, the pressure increases after each major point if entry. Ugh.
Arranging to ship our packs to tomorrow's destination. We've decided to do this for a few days to take the pressure off knees and get used to distances. Many, many people are doing this.
Amazing braided snake column guarding the Virgin.

Bliss!
Oh gawd. At least the dress is louder than the crazy hair.
Good evening! Looks like you are having fun and success. Been busy with life and now finally have a moment to figure out how to follow your progress. Soldier on dear friend! Forwarding to Mimi.
Loving the crazy lady with the crazy hair in the joyful dress - and the sun is shining for you 🤩
